Modern Nature

Designed in Aotearoa, by Ōtepoti, Dunedin Landscape Architect Stefan Mutch, Trēwhare is a synthesis of art, furniture, and environment. His unique designs will bring a new lease of life to any garden or outdoor setting.

Trēwhare

Stefan’s Trēwhare spaces recognize that many landscapes need only be reimagined rather than redeveloped. Made from Macrocarpa, they are a premade kit set enabling quick installation and relocation. His designs are most suited to an existing deck or courtyard but can be placed almost anywhere in your garden. Trēwhare can define a space and become the space, connecting us with nature and with each other.

Trēwhare is designed for stylish living. From lively whānau gatherings to mindful moments alone, Trēwhare is also perfect for kiwis working from home, when they want more connection with the outside world.

Flowing forms and intricate textures are synonymous with the natural world, but how does nature feel and how do we like to connect with it physically? Sitting in branches, lying in sand dunes, or resting against the trunk of a tree? Trēwhare brings these elements together into a single piece of modern design.

We want nature to be a greater part of daily living, which means making outdoor spaces more integrated and compatible with everyday life. We know that everything is connected, and believe that gardens can be as beneficial to our own health and wellbeing, as they are to the planet.

Trēwhare Logo

The Trēwhare logo was designed by Stefan to represent both a tree and a whare. It identifies air, sea, earth, and forest and the harmonious integration of nature into our homes.
